Sometimes it's hard to distinguish a Cargo Box Shop from a simple shed surrounded by corrugated metal sheets. However, when you see cinder blocks supporting the shop, that's usually a clear sign that it's a storage container.
The Binlang industry is famous for using Cargo Boxes for shops, and they are scattered everywhere in Taiwan. Here are a couple of Binlang Shops we encountered in Taichung. Once again, notice the cinder blocks underneath both shops. Rather than build a foundation to hold the container, they always take the cheapest route and just put concrete blocks below them.
We are always on the look-out for new Binlang Cargo Shops. It's fascinating sub-culture in the world of Cargo Boxes, and a cultural phenomenon in Taiwan.
