CONTAINER BOX
WORLD NEWS
Just Kitchen is a popular franchise that offers a variety of different healthy food alternatives. Currently, they have a location in an outdoor container park complex, and it allows patrons to enjoy their dining experience in the fresh air.
The thing we noticed the most about their container were the solid iron I-beam supports, the metal staircases, and professional style roof. They really went the extra mile to give it that special touch.
After much deliberation, we have finally decided to unveil our Favorite Cargo Box Restaurants for November of 2021. We realize that our list will constantly be adapting and changing, but we thought it would be good to share the ones we enjoyed the most.
Without further ado, here is our list...

Cafe' Champ could have a variety of monikers, such as Fast Lane Caffine or High Adrenaline Java or even Nascar Joe. Any nickname you choose has to be about living on the edge and speed, because that's what this shop is all about.
The moment you walk up to their shop, you can feel an energy eminating from HubAuto, a vehicle customization shop, directly adjacent to Cafe' Champ's front doors. On any given day, you can see them working on cars through the cafe's windows, and we wouldn't be surprised if the aura gave your java a few extra volts of electricity.
As for the shop itself, it is intertwined with several Cargo Boxes, stacked on two levels, and the design is fairly modern. We especially enjoyed the view from the second level and it really had that Container-like feel.
So, if you enjoy Cargo Boxes, Coffee, and Fast Race Cars, then this is the perfect shop for you.
Can you think of anything more terrifying that spending Halloween surrounded by Spooky Cargo Boxes? Naturally, we went to Owl Burger, the best Cheeseburger place in Taipei.
Let me tell you, it's been a mission of mine to find the an honest to goodness, real American Style Cheeseburger in Taiwan, and it's been a real challenge. However, when it's comes to the Owl Burger, there is no other shop in Taipei that can compare. Their cheeseburger is incredible!
Walking down a side street in Hsinchu, there was an eerie whipping sound in the distance and we felt compelled to find it's source. As we proceeded down the street, the sound got louder and we could see a dark, ghostly shape hovering in the wind. Finally, we realized it was a loose tarp slapping against the side of a Container Box Garden Shed.
It appeared that instead of installing a roof to keep the temperature down, the owner opted to cover his Container Garden Shed with a black tarp. Yet, due to the high ocean winds, it eventually came undone, and now it's forever destined to flap in the heavy breeze.
With spotless streets and rows of homes, Jinlong Road is a neigborhood in the truest sense of the word. And in the center of that road is a small cafe' called Peck Brunch (啄Brunch), which really feels like the soul of the community.
While the cafe' attracts a younger aged crowd, it's also a staple of the area, since it's so convenient for local residents to grab a quick breakfast or lunch less than a hundred yards from the front door. Plus, with its unique Container Box atmosphere, the Peck Brunch Cafe' (啄Brunch) is also a great place to relax a couple of hours, and enjoy eating and talking with friends.
The feature about this Container Box Cafe' we appreciated the most were the giant picture windows. Once again, this seems to be the defining characteristic of what makes a Container Shop stand out the most.
The Nothing Bar is really quite something. Enjoy a fresh beer and chat with friends while soaking in gorgeous views of the Tamsui river. The Nothing Bar is located in the middle of Dadaocheng Pier Plaza, along with a dozen other Cargo Box shops, and the authentic river atmosphere makes it one of the more popular hotspots in Taipei.
In the future, all the World's Container Boxes will be 3D Printed on a giant 3D Printer, which will be stationed at each harbor. And if a Container gets damaged, it will be recycled into raw material and a new container will quickly be created.
However, for the time being, we only have the ability to create these tiny 3D Printed prototypes. Aren't they cute? We stopped by a small company and decided to share them. We weren't allowed to show the company's name, but they said we could display the boxes.
We are living in amazing times!
The Minions are continuing their quest for total domination and now they're targeting the world's cargo boxes too! The shop's name is Bananas For You, and on its shelves are just about every souvenir item the Minions could offer.
The shop is located over on PIER5 (大稻埕碼頭河岸特區) at Dadaocheng Wharf in Taipei, where there is a market square filled with Container Restaurants and a large seating area. People can sit down, eat their favorite foods, and watch the boats float in and out of the harbour. It's a popular dating destination for the 20-something crowd, especially in the evening during a romantic sunset.
Bananas For You also has some basic restaurant fare, such as popcorn, pancakes, and even banana chocolate grilled toast. Sometimes, after a long day at work, it's nice to escape and watch the sun go down while eating on top of a Cargo Box. So, go visit Bananas For You, get a Minion friend, and watch the sunset in the harbor. It's a great way to end the day.
If you want to spend a quiet evening sipping a cup of coffee and chewing on a scone, in a pristine style atmosphere, then the Material Café (素材日常) is the perfect destination. Just a short bike ride from the Huanbei Station (A21 Purple Line), anybody can grab a uBike and be at the Material Cafe' within 10-15 mintues. They even have a uBike rack in front of their shop!
They obviously paid very close attention to detail when they built the cafe', which is a meshing of two container boxes, side by side. The counters and furnishings also have a somewhat minimalistic, almost container-like quality, which adds to the shop's decor. In addition, they have a friendly staff that really make an effort to make customers feel welcome.
We especially liked the large picture windows that illuminate and glow at night. In terms of Container Shops, it is in the upper echelon of our lists. Also, it is located near to Chung Yuan Christian University (中原大學), so during the day there may a college-aged crowd.
Located adjacent to Asia University Hospital in Taichung, Heart Coffee (心咖啡) is a popular Cargo Box Coffee shop that specializes in their own gourmet beans. As you look out the window, there is a picturesque view of a green farm field, lush with vegetation.
It's a quiet place, with only a single table and a few chairs at the bar area. On a sunny day, most people would sit on the deck outside, relaxing in the fresh, clean farm atmosphere. It really is a peaceful place, especially for people who may be visiting the nearby hospital, who need to contemplate and relax.
As for the Cargo Box, we really liked the two full sized windows facing the farm, and the small, thin window facing the parking area. The Cargo design is simplistic, but they really utilize the limited space and decorate it with original artwork from local artists.
The customer service was wonderful and we really enjoyed the experience.
Nestled in the middle of National Taiwan University, close to the heart of Taipei, is a quaint little cafe' called Soulba (稍飽台大店). Bustling with nature, it's adjacent to Drunken Moon Lake (國立臺灣大學醉月湖), which is a haven and natural habitat to a variety of bird species. As you walk the trails around the lake, it's quite common to see birds standing in the path, waiting to be fed by local residents.
Soulba is a great place to park yourself on a bench, enjoy nature, and scan the mobile phone or read a book. If you are in the area, go to the University library, walk around campus, or feed the birds. Afterwards, go to Soulba and enjoy a quick bite to eat and a hot coffee. It's the perfect ending to a pleasant afternoon.
Just in time for the Winter Holidays, the Hama Boutique (亞瑪精品) placed a temporary Container Clothing Store in the middle of the Xinyi Shopping District. Less than 100 feet away from the largest Christmas tree in Xinyi, the lights from inside dazzle at night and are a nice complement to the tree's hourly light show.
If a shop is going to place a temporary container in the middle of the busiest shopping district, they have to make sure it is aesthetically pleasing to its surroundings. Hama Boutique (亞瑪精品) was able to succeed in doing that beautifully. It actually adds to the light display that many people love to enjoy during the holidays.
If Willy Wonka built himself a Cargo Box Office, this is exactly what it would look like. An orange frame, white doors, and a rainbow umbrella. This is the perfect, quaint little get-away, and the design is as minimalistic as can be.
The most impressive feature is the pulley canope constructed to cover the Cargo Office during those hot summer afternoons. We've researched various schematics online and we think it's the "Slide-on Wire" approach.
Sometimes the most amazing part of a Cargo Office are the extra details that people addon, such as the slide-on wire canope. It's one of those details we'll be on the look-out for in the future.
It is very rare that we come across a container home that exemplifies the meaning of sophistication and grace. However, this week in Taichung, there was a home that really struck a chord in our hearts.
It was clear that the project was in development and there's still work to be done. There were exposed wires in the walls and tape along all the windows. Yet, it's quite evident that the owner is really paying attention to the fine details; everywhere from the cast iron fence to the dark brown color design. To put it mildly, it is an apple in our eyes.
Hopefully, next time we pass this way again, we will see the finished product. Kudos to the designer on a clean, sleek design.
There's a trend to use Container Boxes in Self-Car Washes in Taichung, and that makes sense considering they already have lockable doors, are built to withstand the outdoor elements, and are easy to move.
Above the containers are medium-sized water tanks that feed into the box that then lead into a network of tubes which are distributed throughout the car wash. Once again, the base of the container is supported by cinder blocks, and that is a clear sign of non-permenant placement.
In honor of the Halloween season, we present the Mysterious Grey Cargo Box. While we realize this is most likely used as a storage container, the ominous undertones of a rustic cargo box with windowed prison bars can not be ignored.
That's why we saved this gem for October, the ghostliest month of the year. This Cargo Box must be the stuff of local legend. Every passerby on the road must be thinking the same thing... this location is perfect for Jordan Peele's next Horror Film. Seriously, can you think of anything more sinister than a desolate Cargo Box in the middle of nowhere?
So, our hat's off to the owner of this Cargo Box... you have captured the imagination of every Slasher Film enthusiast in the world. Who knows... maybe Stephen King will even put this Cargo Box in his upcoming novel.
This Cargo Fried Food Box, better known as Shihyaoden (四葉關東煮), is located in an area known for late night fare. Directly adjacent to Maverick Cubano's, another popular evening only grill, this shop is a hot spot for motorbikers who enjoy getting their food on-the-go.
Even though it's directly across from the LRT, we recommend that you make a drive there since it's in a hard to reach location (unless you're brave enough to cross a busy highway in the middle of rush hour).
A great place to pick up food if you live in the area. Another creative example of Cargo Box Cuisine.
Ming Lun Pancakes (明倫蛋餅-大坑店) as been an institution in the Taichung Area since 1978, and one of the things that makes them stand out is their unique Container Box Shop. With a double decker container, it gives them ample space for equipment and supplies, in addition to serving as a billboard which can be seen a mile away.
In terms of their food, it is absolutely delicious and it's enjoyable watching them make it in front of you. We really recommend you visiting and trying the Ming Lun Pancakes (明倫蛋餅-大坑店) for yourselves!
As the end of the year approaches, there is a popular trend of creating rankings for all topics big and small. In honor of that tradition, here is our list of Top 5 Cargo Box Coffee Shops in Taiwan for the year 2021.

While strolling to the park yesterday, we stumbled upon a rare find in the world of storage containers. Lo and behold, in the middle of a construction area, it was half an Office Cargo Box.
Now, we had no choice but to study it for a moment and enjoy the sheer beauty of seeing a Cargo Box Office so small that you could literally fit it on the back of a small pick-up truck. Imagine how many construction sites this box has been on.
It was somewhat reminiscent of the small ice houses we've seen during wintertime in Wisconsin. However, if you put this on ice, I'm sure that it would sink like a rock. Anyways, it was a delight to see another way that Cargo Boxes can be recycled and re-used in the real world.
